Earning this title isn’t about chasing the biggest horsepower numbers, hunting down the rarest factory options, or boasting the most expensive build. It’s about the raw, undeniable connection between machine and owner; the kind of car that stops people in their tracks, leaving them lost between envy and inspiration, while mumbling “I want it.”
To wear the crown, a contender must meet a few defining standards:
- Driven, Not Hauled: A true God’s Chariot arrives the right way; under its own power. No trailers. The journey is part of the lore, written in miles, roadside fixes, and the triumphant arrival through the gates.
- Proved on the Track: The E30’s motorsports heritage lives where the rubber meets the track. It doesn’t need to break lap records, and it doesn’t need to be a dedicated racecar; it has to capture the raw, unfiltered pursuit of speed and pure connection with the driver.
- The “It” Factor: The soul. That impossible-to-define quality turning a collection of parts into a jaw-dropping awe. It might be a flawless stance, decades of hard-earned patina, a wild custom fabrication, or a lifetime of owner passion keeping an old chassis alive.
